A 10% deposit is required on booking. The remaining 90% is due 72 hours before departure. Non-payment by that deadline results in cancellation. The deposit is non-refundable subject to the refund exceptions and statutory rights set out below.

1. The operator and this agreement

These Terms & Conditions govern private passenger transport supplied by Dale McCarthy trading as Travel 2 Events (we, us or our). You are the customer making the booking for yourself and your party. You must be aged 18 or over and authorised to arrange the journey for the passengers.

These terms apply to bookings accepted on or after 4 October 2026. The version supplied when your booking is made applies to that booking. Changes to this website do not retrospectively change an existing contract.

2. Quotes and booking confirmation

Submitting a quote request does not reserve a vehicle or create a confirmed booking. We confirm availability, the agreed journey, total price and payment instructions in writing. A booking becomes binding when we accept it in writing and receive the required deposit, or full payment for a booking made within 72 hours of departure.

Before payment, we will provide the operator’s trading address and contact details, the agreed itinerary, total price including applicable taxes and agreed charges, and these terms in a form you can keep. Please check your confirmation and tell us promptly about errors.

3. Deposit: 10% payable on booking

A deposit of 10% of the total agreed booking price is required on booking. It forms part of the total price and is not an additional charge. The remaining balance is 90%.

The deposit is non-refundable if you cancel a confirmed booking or the booking is cancelled because you fail to pay the balance on time, subject to section 6 and your statutory rights. We do not retain a deposit where doing so would be unlawful or unfair.

4. Balance: due 72 hours before departure

The remaining balance must reach us in cleared funds no later than 72 hours before the scheduled departure time shown in your booking confirmation. For a booking covering an outward and return journey, the deadline is 72 hours before the first scheduled departure. Times are local UK time, including daylight saving where applicable.

For a booking made within 72 hours of departure, the full price is due immediately on booking. Payment is made by the method specified in your confirmation. Initiating a transfer is not the same as our receiving cleared funds.

5. Cancellation for non-payment

If the final payment has not been received by the 72-hour deadline, your booking is cancelled and the vehicle is released. We will send written notice of cancellation using the contact details on your booking. A payment reminder is not a condition of the deadline.

If you believe you paid on time, contact us promptly using the details in your confirmation and provide payment evidence. An administrative error by us will be corrected. A late payment does not automatically reinstate a cancelled booking; reinstatement requires our written agreement and availability. Any late payment for a booking we cannot reinstate will be refunded, subject only to a lawful deduction explained under section 6.

6. Customer cancellations and refunds

Send cancellations in writing using the contact details supplied with your booking, quoting your booking reference. A cancellation takes effect when received. Keep a copy of your message.

The 10% deposit is a reservation payment and is normally retained on customer cancellation or cancellation for non-payment. Any retention or cancellation charge must be lawful, fair and proportionate. Where required by law, we will reduce the amount retained to reflect our reasonable net loss, costs saved and income recovered by rebooking. We will explain any deduction and will not recover the same loss twice.

These terms do not impose an automatic forfeiture of the remaining 90% balance. Any balance already paid will be refunded except for an additional cancellation charge expressly agreed before booking and lawfully justified by our reasonable net loss. Any refund due will be made without undue delay, normally within 14 days after the amount is established, by the original payment method where possible.

Nothing in the non-refundable deposit provision removes your right to a refund or other remedy where we fail to provide the agreed service, breach the contract, or where the law otherwise requires a refund.

7. Amendments and additional charges

Changes to dates, times, addresses, stops, passenger numbers or luggage are subject to availability and our written acceptance. We will explain any revised price before you agree. An amendment is not confirmed until accepted in writing.

The agreed price covers the itinerary in your confirmation. Additional waiting, parking, tolls or extra stops are chargeable only where the charge or calculation basis was disclosed and agreed beforehand, or you expressly agree to the extra service and price.

8. Passengers, luggage and accessibility

Our service is for a private party of 1–8 passengers, subject to the confirmed vehicle’s capacity. Provide accurate passenger and luggage details, including bulky items, pushchairs and equipment. Eight passenger seats do not guarantee space for eight large cases.

Tell us before booking about child passengers, child restraints, mobility aids and access requirements so we can confirm a suitable arrangement. Passengers must use the restraints required by law. We will meet our applicable equality and assistance obligations.

9. Pickup, delays and passenger conduct

Be ready at the agreed pickup place and time. Provide a contact number and tell us promptly if you are delayed. Flight monitoring, waiting allowances and any collection arrangements must be stated in your confirmation; they should not be assumed.

We will exercise reasonable care and skill in planning and providing the journey. You should allow suitable time for check-in and events. Traffic or other delays do not excuse a failure by us to exercise reasonable care and skill.

Passengers must follow lawful safety instructions. We may refuse or stop carriage where reasonably necessary to protect safety or prevent unlawful conduct. Any charge following refusal or termination must be fair and reflect the circumstances and loss actually incurred.

10. If we cancel or cannot provide the journey

If we cancel or cannot provide the agreed journey, we will notify you promptly. You may accept a suitable alternative by agreement or receive a refund for the unprovided service, including the corresponding deposit. We will not substitute a materially different journey without your agreement.

If circumstances outside our reasonable control prevent performance, we will take reasonable steps to reduce the impact and discuss alternatives. We will refund sums for services not provided where required by law. This section does not remove any further legal remedy available to you.

11. Responsibility and statutory rights

We are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Your statutory consumer rights, including applicable rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, are unaffected. An unfair or unenforceable term will not bind you; the remaining terms continue where they can operate lawfully.

12. Complaints, contact and personal information

Raise a complaint promptly using the contact details in your quote or booking confirmation, with your reference and a description of the issue. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable time. This does not restrict your right to seek independent advice or take legal action.

Personal information is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not send payment card numbers or security codes in website messages or quote notes.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you retain any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your place of residence. You may bring proceedings in the courts available to you under applicable consumer jurisdiction rules.
